An assault broke out between two individuals at Gaaf Alif atoll Dhaandhoo leading to an attack with a sharp implement.
Maldives Police Service confirm two individuals had argued in a cafe at the island, and the incident was reported around 21:50hrs on Tuesday evening.
The injured 31 year old Bangladeshi victim, male, was transported to Dhaandhoo Health Center following the violent altercation as confirmed by local authorities.
Police further commented, the alleged suspect of the incident was provided medical assistance under the supervision of local law enforcement authority.
Both individuals of the assault had sustained various degrees of injuries due to the scuffle.
Meanwhile, local law enforcement authorities were investigating the case to aquire necessary details before filing it to Prosecutor General's Office.
