Work to disinfect and clean the streets of Male’ City with chlorine water is underway as part of the on-going efforts to deter a full-blown Covid-19 outbreak in Maldives.
The work is carried out by Maldives National Defense Force MNDF in collaboration with Male’ City Council.
In a press statement regarding the work, City Council said work to wash and clean the streets of Male City has begun earlier today and that MNDF personal are taking part in the disinfection work. City Council said pellets placed on streets, which allow waste accumulation, and also damaged pellets will be removed tomorrow as part of the disinfection program.
Official government spokesman Mr. Mabrouk Abdul Azeez said last night that Hulhumale would also be disinfected and that Hulhumale Development Corporation HDC would spearhead the work there.
With several preventive measures already in place, citizens of Maafannu medhu constituencies have already been disinfecting the area.
Government has already taken countless steps to deter a massive viral outbreak in the country with public parks, café and restaurants already ordered to close.
