Health authorities report a suspected case for the COVID-19 virus have been discovered from Adaaran Club Rannalhi.
Though not confirmed for the presence of the viral strand, authorities confirm the suspected individual is being screened for the possible presence of the disease.
Health Protection Agency (HPA) reports that a Maldivian local's samples have been extracted to test the individual for the presence of the disease; adding the authority was acting within the guidelines on controlling COVID-19.
Although the resort has not been brought under official lockdown, HPA reports Adaaran Club Rannalhi will remain in close monitoring until the test results arrive.
The latest updates on COVID-19 in Maldives confirms a total of 13 positive cases being discovered from the island nation while 02 have since recovered.
Authorities further commented out of the positive cases, 08 individuals may have carried the virus within them during their arrival to Maldives.
Meanwhile, Maldives had earlier announced a State of Public Health Emergency for duration of 30-days.
