A tourist has passed away while on a diving trip, during his visit in Maldives.
Maldives Police Service has confirmed the report, claiming a tourist was rushed to Lhaviyani atoll hospital on Saturday morning, around 09:30hrs, where he was announced dead before arrival.
Furthermore, reports have also claimed the demised has been identified as a 69 year old Austrian national.
Police had stated the diver was last seen by his instructor, floating motionless in water following a vigorous dive session.
The instructor had proceeded to provide with basic CPR on the diver after transferring him on to the dive vessel.
Meanwhile, local law enforcement has commenced probing into the nature of the incident.
Deaths related to diving trips gone wrong, have started to increase in Maldives in recent years.
