The governments of Maldives and India on Wednesday exchanged agreements to launch four key projects.

Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, via a live video conference exchanged the agreements on Wednesday afternoon.

President's Office of Maldives revealed the projects include gifting of an in-shore patrol vessel; the CGS Kaamiyaabu, from Indian government to the Coast Guard division of Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF).

In addition, agreements were exchanged under the High Impact Community Development Projects which would "see undertakings targeting socio-economic development and improvement of public welfare."

This includes the launch of neighborhood fish processing plants in three various locations of Addu City.

Furthermore, Maldives and India exchanged agreements to use RuPay in the island nation in addition to Indian government gifting LED streetlights for Male' City.

The LED streetlights were gifted as part of the collaboration between the two countries in the field of pushing for energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy.
