The Elections Commission has begun dispatching voting materials to the Atolls in preparation for the upcoming Local Council Election, Women's Development Council Election, and the Public referendum on holding the Presidential election and Parliamentary election on the same day.
The Commission said that it was sending materials to the 347 polling stations being set up in the inner islands.
It said that these materials would be sent via sea and air. The Commission said voting materials sent to polling stations in Haa Alifu Atoll, Raa Atoll, Thaa Atoll, Laamu Atoll, Gaafu Alifu Atoll, Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll, Seenu Atoll, Fuvamulah City, and Addu City have been sent via air.
It further said voting materials sent to Haa Dhaalu Atoll, Shaviyani Atoll, Noonu Atoll, Baa Atoll, Lhaviyani Atoll, Alifu Alifu Atoll, Alifu Dhaalu Atoll, Vaavu Atoll, Meemu Atoll, Faafu Atoll, and Dhaalu Atoll would be dispatched via sea.
The Commission said that these materials would be dispatched on the 30th and the 31st of this month.
The Election Commission is working to send the materials needed to the polling stations in the Atolls with the assistance of the Commission staff and the police.
The elections are scheduled to be held on the 4th of next month with 299,876 eligible voters.
