Foreign Minister Abdullah Khaleel says the Maldives would not allow any country to use its airspace to launch attacks in the ongoing war in the Middle East.

He made these comments at the press conference held by the Special Cabinet Committee on Middle East Tensions.

The Minister said that the Committee had already identified measures that would mitigate the effects of the ongoing war on Maldivian security and its economy.

Minister Khaleel said that to ensure Maldivian security, no country would be allowed to use its airspace to launch attacks on another country in the war.

He said that the government had not allowed for this to happen in the last few days and had rejected requests for airspace use on multiple occasions.
