The Maldives Meteorological Services say the Maldives is currently in its seasonally warmest period and that 2 in the afternoon is the hottest time of day.
It said that March to April is the warmest period across the Maldives. It said that during this period, winds tend to weaken, and with clear skies and persistently high humidity, the air temperature becomes more pronounced.
The Met Office said that these conditions also reduce the diurnal temperature range, resulting in higher "feels-like" temperatures.
It further warned that the average temperature in April would be slightly above the climatological normals.
The Met Office added that in general, the day's maximum temperature occurs around 2 in the afternoon.
