Police say they have recovered MVR 464,819 in the last 48 hours from Male'. Police shared the crime prevention statistics from three key wards of the capital, including Maafannu, Henveriu, and Galolhu.
Police said that in the last 48 hours, Maafaanu Station reported theft and robbery of MVR 138,552 and a recovery of MVR 34,720. Police statistics showed that Henveriu Police Station recovered MVR 65,000 while Galolhu Station recovered a whopping MVR 365,099.
In the last 48 hours, Galolhu station made 3 arrests, while Maafannu station made 2, and Henveriu station made three arrests.
The statistics also showed that all three stations checked over 2,000 locations across the three wards as part of the law enforcement's crime prevention strategy.
Meanwhile, the police said its Gang Crime Suppression department checked the gang crime hotspots in the capital more than 400 times in the last 48 hours.
They said that officers from the Department reported over 90 interactions and 13 vehicles were searched in 48 hours. Police also said that 1 vehicle was towed and that its officers completed around 6 hours of foot patrolling in the last 48 hours alone in the capital.
