Police have arrested two individuals with 3 kgs of drugs.
Police said that the suspects were arrested after the Drug Enforcement and Counter Narcotics Intelligence conducted a joint operation following a tip-off that drugs were being possessed and trafficked.
They stated that in the operation carried out yesterday, 2 vehicles were searched and that 3kgs of suspected narcotics were recovered in the search.
Police identified the suspects as 28-year-old Ahmed Naseem from Gaafu Alifu Maamendhoo and 36-year-old Haneef, who is a Bangladeshi national.
They said that the foreigner had been remanded in custody for 5 days, while the local man was given a remand custody of 15 days.
Police added that they were further investigating the case.
