Police say they have arrested a foreigner for falsely imprisoning another man in Male'.
They said that they received the report of a man being falsely imprisoned in Male' on the 19th of February, around 1:22 in the morning. Police said they found the location of the abducted man through the initial investigation and rescued the man around 02:29 in the morning.
Police confirmed that the victim had not received any physical injuries.
Police also said that they arrested a 35-year-old Bangladeshi national named Iqbal Mia in connection with the case. Police said that the man had been remanded in custody for 30 days.
They added that the suspect was an illegal immigrant.
Police said that they were further investigating the case.
