Police say they have arrested a local woman for allegedly grooming, exploiting, and sexually assaulting a child.
They identified the suspect as 35-year-old Fathimath Reema.
Police said that Reema was arrested in a special operation carried out by the Family & Child crime unit, and that the Crime Intelligence unit. They said that the suspect was arrested on the 25th of December 2025.
Police also stated that the Criminal Court has remanded the suspect in custody till the 28th of this month.
They further said that the minor involved in the case is a 15-year-old boy.
Police said that they were further investigating the case.
They added that they were taking action against those who groom children and take advantage of their compulsion to engage in drugs, gang crimes, and sexual assaults. They also said that they were working with the relevant authorities to identify the perpetrators of such acts and punish them with the severest possible punishment.
