President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu says the Giraavarufalhu land reclamation project is moving forward speedily as two dredgers are being used in the project.
The President made the comments on his X account.
He shared pictures of the two dredgers at the site, confirming his announcement. He did not provide any additional information about the project's progress.
The government plans to dredge 160 hectares of land under the project.
The project was temporarily halted after 54 hectares of land were dredged. The project restarted last month.
The former government of MDP had decided to award 2,000 land plots to Male' residents from Giraavarufalhu.
However, after coming into power, this administration announced that 2,000 land plots cannot be given from the land and opened an application to allow those who want to change their land plots to Gulheefalhu.
