The Local government Ministry says more than 53,000 cases of tuna have been distributed in the Greater Male' area as the general distribution of this year's government-paid Ramadan gift concluded last night.

The Ministry said that when the general distribution ended last night, a total of 53, 308 tuna cases had been handed over to households in Male', Villimale', and Hulhumale'.

The Ministry said that those who have not yet picked up their tuna cases for any reason can now pick up the cases at MIFCO stores in the Greater Male' area.

It also said that MIFCO stores will also release these tuna cases till the first of Ramadan.

The Ministry began distributing the tuna cases in the Greater Male' area on the 24th of January and had set up several pickup points across the capital to further streamline the process.

The Ministry acknowledged that it had the support of the MNDF, Police, and state-owned companies, which allowed it to complete the general distribution of tuna cases in the Greater Male' area so efficiently.

Local government Minister Adam Shareef Umar thanked the organizations and government agencies involved in the distribution.
