A major pile-up on the highway connecting Male' and Hulhumale' has injured four people.
Police said the accident occurred when a car stopped on the Male'-Hulhumale' side of the highway collided with another car coming from behind, and the car then swerved into the cycle lane, which caused four cycles to crash into it
Police further said that the accident happened 24 minutes after midnight and that four local men were injured in the accident. They said two of the men were released from the hospital after being treated for their injuries.
Police quoted the state-run IGM Hospital to report that the remaining two victims were recovering in the hospital.
Police added that they were further investigating the accident.
