National Disaster Management Authority, NDMA, says it has provided temporary shelter to more than 80 individuals after the fire at one of the Hiya towers yesterday.
NDMA said that the fire at Hiya Tower 5 yesterday evening damaged the sewer pipes of 38 apartments.
It said that 18 apartments reached out requiring assistance and that it had provided temporary shelter to 85 individuals living in those apartments.
It also said that it had provided meals to those who sought temporary shelter with the authority.
NDMA stated that after the incident, the HDC is working to identify the damage to the sewerage system and repair the damage.
It added that HDC was working alongside relevant authorities to further investigate the fire and its cause.
