Housing Minister Dr. Abdullah Mutalib says the government's housing policies are designed to give priority to families without any housing.

In a social media post, the minister stated that housing is not just a means of increasing property or wealth, but it is also the foundation of education, health, employment, and social cohesion.

The Minister said that the need for housing is not measured based on individual needs, but based on the needs of families. He further said that if a family has a housing unit, another family member should not be given housing before families without any housing.

Minister Mutalib said families without land or houses often did not have the protection of their property.

The Minister further said that the situation of a family with a small housing opportunity will be different compared to a family without any resources.

The minister also said that the more affordable housing projects are implemented, the less power there will be for public housing.
