Police have confirmed that a local man reported missing after a supply boat capsized off Kaafu Vaadhoo has been found dead in the water near the area.
They said that the man was one of two crew members who went missing when their boat, named 'Balma-6', capsized off Kaafu Vaadhoo around 7:00 in the morning. Local reports have said that the deceased man was the captain of the boat.
One crew member remains missing after the accident. Authorities have identified the man as a foreigner and have said that they are still searching for the missing person.
The boat had a crew of 4 when it capsized, and authorities confirmed that the remaining 2 crew members were picked up by a nearby vessel.
Authorities have not said why the supply boat capsized.
