The Parliament Secretariat has announced the date for the annual Presidential Address given at the year's first Parliamentary session.

It stated that the inaugural session of the parliament for the calendar year would be held on February 5, 2026. At the session, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu would address the parliament to give his third Presidential Address since taking office.

The Presidential Address conveys the current state of the country and also outlines the Government's plans for the upcoming year.

It also highlights key pledges made by the President and what he would strive to achieve during the calendar year.

The Parliament is currently in recess. However, it held two extraordinary sessions recently.

The session of the Parliament is divided into three parts a year. The first session will be held from February 1 to May. The second term is to be held from June 1 to August 15, and the third from October 1 to November.
