The parliament is set to hold an extraordinary session tomorrow as it is still in recess.

The session is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m.

The first reading and debate of three bills have been scheduled for tomorrow's session.

These include;

  1. Bill to amend the Constitution of the Maldives submitted by MP for Inguraidhoo Constituency Ibrahim Falah
  2. Bill to amend the Penal Code of the Maldives submitted by MP for Hithadhoo Central Constituency, Ahmed Azan Marzooq
  3. Bill to amend the Pensions Act submitted by MP Milandhoo Constituency Hassan Mufeed

The President’s motion to appoint a member to the Human Rights Commission of the Maldives (HRCM) is scheduled to be referred to the Standing Committee for consideration.

The National Development and Heritage Committee is also scheduled to present its report on the re-employment bill. The bill is also scheduled to be put to the vote.

The Parliament is in recess after completing sessions in three terms last year. The first term for this year is set to begin next month.
