Police have launched an investigation after the remains of an unborn child were found in a dustbin in a resort in Vaavu Atoll.
They said that they have received a report of a woman who miscarried her child while working in a resort in the central atoll. While the Police said that they had launched an investigation into the incident, they did not give any other information regarding the case.
Unverified social media posts have said that the woman worked in Cinammon Vilifushi resort.
It was also reported that the remains of the unborn child weighed around 12 kg, were found in a dustbin in the staff accommodation block of the resort.
Police are yet to confirm these reports.
