The State Electric Company Stelco employee injured in the fire at the old power house in Hulhumale' has succumbed to his wounds while under treatment.
It has been confirmed that 43-year-old Ahmed Azmeel, who worked at Stelco as a supervisor, died of his injuries while under treatment at Bangkok Hospital.
Azmeel sustained injuries in a fire that broke out at the old power house in Hulhumale' last month as Stelco staff scrambled to fix a switch gear issue at the station.
It was reported that the victim sustained serious burns on his body.
Meanwhile, in a message shared on social media, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu also conveyed his heartfelt condolences to Azmeel’s family and to the staff and employees of STELCO.
