State Electric Company Stelco says its employee injured in the fire at the old power house in Hulhumale' has been flown out to Thailand for further treatment.

The staff sustained injuries in a fire that broke out at the old power house in Hulhumale' last Wednesday as Stelco staff scrambled to fix a switch gear issue at the station.

Stelco had said that the staff member sustained serious burns on his body in the fire and that they was initially rushed to Hulhumale' Hospital. The victim was then transferred to ADK hospital.

The Company said today that the staff had been flown out to Thailand and would not be treated at the Bangkok Hospital.

Stelco had stated that they would closely monitor the condition of the injured employee and that the company was praying for a speedy recovery.
