Malé, Maldives — Minister of Civil Aviation and Special Envoy of the Prime Minister of India, H.E. Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, paid a courtesy call on President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on Monday morning at the President’s Office.
During the meeting, President Dr. Muizzu extended a warm welcome to Minister Naidu and expressed his deep appreciation to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the Government of India for their longstanding support and contributions to the Maldives’ socio-economic development.
The President conveyed particular gratitude for India’s assistance in the timely completion and inauguration of the Hanimadhoo International Airport, highlighting the project as a key step forward in strengthening the Maldives’ connectivity and regional progress.
President Muizzu reaffirmed that India remains a steadfast development partner for the Maldives and expressed confidence in the continued cooperation between the two countries to ensure that all ongoing bilateral projects are completed and made operational without delay.
Minister Naidu congratulated the Government of Maldives on the successful opening of the Hanimadhoo International Airport and conveyed that Prime Minister Modi had personally monitored the project’s progress. He underscored that both leaders share a strong commitment to advancing development across the Indian Ocean region.
Reaffirming India’s continued partnership, Minister Naidu assured that all collaborative initiatives would move forward on schedule and deliver tangible benefits to the Maldivian people.
