The local man who sustained serious injuries after a landing craft overturned just outside MPL yesterday has succumbed to his wounds.

The vessel overturned while trying to load cranes onto a cargo ship, and the incident occurred around 03:00 in the afternoon. A total of four people were injured in the accident, including 4 locals and 2 foreigners.

One of the foreigners died shortly after the accident. Police reported that one of the locals, a 25-year-old man, sustained life-threatening injuries.

Police reported today that the man named Ali Aflah Mohamed succumbed to his injuries.

This is the second such incident in the country in the last two months involving a landing craft. Last month, a landing craft traveling from Male' to Eriyadhoo overturned because of bad weather and killed four people. This includes 3 foreigners and 1 local man.
