Former President Mohamed Nasheed says the temperature at Velaana International Airport (VIA) is too cold.

In a post on X, the former President said that the temperature in the Velana airport is currently set at 15 degrees Celsius, which he said was excessively cold and wasteful.

The former President suggested a more reasonable range would be between 20 and 25 degrees.

Many in the comments section of his post agreed with the former President. One user commented that most public buildings in the Maldives are poorly designed, with no consideration given to the high cost of maintenance.

Just imagine the air-conditioning and maintenance costs of Dharumavantha Hospital!

For years, the Maldives have been working to move from traditional sources of energy to more sustainable options like solar power but has yet to use these resources in a larger capacity.
