Police have decided to dismiss the policewoman arrested in a sting operation conducted in Kaafu Thulusdhoo to bust a network using and selling alcohol.
Police reported that 6 others were arrested in the operation last month. The Policewoman has been identified as Constable Aminath Maya Hussain Basheer.
The others apprehended in the operation include a 20-year-old woman, a 23-year-old woman, a 26-year-old woman, a 27-year-old man, and three 23-year-old men.
They were arrested after police searched the guesthouse and found two 500 ml bottles and a cup of suspected liquor.
Police said she was suspended in connection with the case, and the matter was referred to the disciplinary board for professional standards.
