Police have confirmed that a man fell to his death from a Hiya Tower in Hulhumale' Phase 2.
They said that the victim fell from the 14th floor of the 8th tower and that the incident was reported around 08:00 in the morning.
Police further said that the man was declared dead on arrival at the Hospital. They identified him as a 33-year-old local man.
Police gave no other information about the case and added that they were further investigating the case.
Although a taboo subject in the Maldives, suicides have become common among young Maldivians. Most of the cases relate to economic pressures, social health issues, and untreated mental health conditions.
