Police have revealed the identities of the four suspects apprehended in the robbery that transpired at Velaana International Airport yesterday.
Masked assailants, wielding knives, confronted two staff members from the Bank of Maldives BML, who were carrying a money box into the Airport. They threatened the two staff with the knives before snatching the money box and escaping from the airport via a motorboat.
Police later apprehended 4 suspects involved in the robbery and also recovered the motorboat that was used in the theft.
Today, the Police revealed the identities of the four suspects under custody. They include 25-year-old Mazin Moosa, 20-year-old Ahmed Raihan Naeem, 24-year-old Ibrahim Anoof, and 30-year-old Hussain Shahud.
Police said today that the court has remanded all four suspects into custody for 5 days. Police promised to share details of the case with the media as the investigation progresses.
Police have not said whether or not they have recovered the cash stolen in the robbery or how much was stolen in the theft.
