The Maldives National Defence Force, MNDF, says the third crew member missing from the landing craft that overturned in Kaafu Atoll last week has been found dead.
MNDF said that the body of the third missing crew member was found floating in the sea as the search operation concluded. The 10 ft landing craft overturned while traveling from Male' to Eriyadhoo resort in Kaafu Atoll last Wednesday.
MNDF rescued four out of the 7 crew members aboard the vessel, and the rest were reported missing in the incident.
Two of the three missing crew members were found dead on Thursday, including a local man named Ahmed Shifan.
Both their bodies were found by MNDF divers searching the area where the landing craft overturned.
Authorities have yet to give a reason why the vessel overturned as Police continues to investigate the incident.
