Police have arrested 6 men in connection with two fights that happened in the Greater Male' area. They identified the suspects as;
- Abdullah Israq, 19 years
- Shamal Hussain, 22 years
- Rajuvan Latheef, 24 years
- Amsal Abdullah, 25 years
- Thaif Rafeeq, 26 years
- Ahmed Neezaadh, 29 years
Police further said that all 6 suspects were arrested on the 10th of this month under a court order.
They detailed that Shamal Hussain and Rajuvan Latheef were arrested for a fight between another person near the post office around 06:10 pm on the 7th of this month.
Both these suspects were remanded in custody for 15 days.
Meanwhile, the remaining four suspects were arrested for assaulting a man sitting on a parked motorcycle near Mahchangoalhi Reendhoomaage.
Police added that a dangerous weapon was used in the assault.
All four suspects have been remanded in custody till the end of their trial. Police are still investigating both the cases.
