Mayor of Male' City Adam Azim says neither MDP nor any other party should be obstructed from carrying out their political activities in the City and that they should able to hang banners as per the regulation.
This comes after HDC employees removed MDP banners promoting the anti-government protests scheduled for October 3rd in Hulhumale'. Male' City Council employees removed the banners in Male'.
In a post on X, Mayor Azim said that he was abroad when he received the news of the banners being removed. He said that MDP and all other parties should be allowed to conduct political activities in Male'.
He said that political parties should be allowed to hang banners of their choice as per the regulations set by the authorities.
The Mayor insisted that he himself would hang the banners within the regulations and added that he would attend the mega rally being planned by MDP.
