Police have arrested four individuals for the possession of narcotics and prohibited medical drugs.

Police said two apartments were searched in a drug operation conducted in Hulhumale' following a tip-off received by Counter Narcotics Intelligence.

They said that suspected drugs (24.06 grams) and 363 pills of illegal drugs (37.6 grams) were recovered from the two apartments. Police also said that they recovered more than MVR 4,500 in cash, which they believed was money earned by illegal means.

Police identified the suspects as 26-year-old Ahmed Saffan, 32-year-old Shana, along with their Bangladeshi partners, 50-year-old Faarook Chokeedhaaru, and 40-year-old Saific.

All four were arrested in the operation carried out on the 23rd of this month.

The Court had remanded Shana for 10 days in custody, while the other three were remanded in custody for 15 days.

Police said that they were further investigating the case.
