The Maldives has welcomed the announcement made by the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia formally recognizing Palestine as a state.
In a statement, the Foreign Ministry described the decision by the three countries as a significant development in the pursuit of peace and stability in the region.
It said that this underscores growing international consensus on the urgency of achieving peace, security, and dignity for the people of Palestine.
The Maldivian government called on all nations that have yet to do so to support the Palestinian people in their legitimate pursuit of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine.
