Members of MDP's Parliamentary Group and party supporters gathered outside the Finance Ministry today, demanding a meeting with Finance Minister Moosa Zameer.
MDP MPs and supporters protested against the government's economic and fiscal policies and voiced concerns about the country's financial well-being.
Speaking to reporters, MP for Kendhoo Constituency Mauroof Zakir said that they gathered outside the Finance Ministry because the Minister has failed to answer any of the questions sent to him by the Parliamentarians.
He said they have sent 16 questions to Finance Minister Zameer. He said it's been a year since some of these questions were sent to the Minister, but the Parliament has yet to summon him.
MP Mauroof said that those who gathered outside the Ministry attempted to make their way inside the building, but were stopped by the Police.
Local media reported that Finance Minister Zameer is currently not in the country.
