The father, who was stabbed by his differently abled adult son in Alifu Alifu Ukulhas, has been transferred to Male' for further treatment.
Police said that the son,26, who suffers from intellectual disability, stabbed his father last night and that the incident was reported around 10:30.
The victim was rushed to the Health Center on the island and then shifted to Male' for further treatment.
It was reported that he had received shallow stab wounds on his arms and torso. He was transferred to Male' after the wounds on his torso had become inflamed.
The father is currently being treated at the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital IGMH.
The hospital confirmed to the outlet that the victim is currently being treated at the Emergency Unit of the hospital.
