President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has declared Monday, July 28, 2025, as a Government holiday to commemorate this year’s Independence Day celebrations.
The President's Office stated that, as this year marks the 60th anniversary of the Maldives’ independence, several activities are scheduled to take place in celebration of Independence Day.
It also stated that in addition to the events scheduled for Sunday, July 27, 2025, the programme also includes significant activities for Monday, July 28.
The President's Office added that therefore, the President has declared Monday, July 28, 2025, as a Government holiday.
