The Health Ministry has decided to shift the operations of Villimale' Hospital to the building that houses the state-run orphanage in Villimale'.

This comes as the government prepares to start the physical work on the 100-bed tertiary hospital in Villimale, which President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu announced last March.

The project has been awarded to a Chinese Company, and the new hospital would be built on the same land that houses the current hospital.

The Health Ministry signed a contract with Male' City Group of Hospital yesterday to shift the operations of VMH to the Kuda Kudhinge Hiya building located in Villimale.

CEO of Male' City Group Hospitals Ibrahim Haleel and State Minister at the Health Ministry Ismail Adam signed the agreement.

While the hospital in Villimale', provides service 24 hours a day, the services are limited and most of the time patients are instructed to seek service from IGMH in Male'.
