The Education Ministry has kicked off the High Achievers Award 2024 ceremony with its first session held earlier this morning.
The Ministry has announced that awards will be presented in five sessions, with three sessions scheduled for today.
The first session was held from 8:00 a.m. this morning until noon. Former President and Special Envoy to the President, Dr. Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik, was the chief guest of the first session of the ceremony.
The second session for today will kick off at 4:00 in the evening and will continue till 06:00 in the evening, while the 3rd session will begin at 08:15 in the evening and continue till midnight.
The ceremony will include the presentation of the Presidential Prize for the 1st place students in O/L and A/L, the Presidential Scholarship for the 1st place students in A/L, and the High Achievers Scholarship for the students who achieve an A pass or above.
The Education Ministry said more than 1,800 students will receive the highest honors awards at the ceremony after achieving the best results in the secondary and higher secondary examinations.
