Islamic Ministry says the first batch of locals who went to the annual Hajj pilgrimage this year will return home on the 13th of this month.
It said that their flight will land at 2:00 in the afternoon on Friday. The Ministry further said that locals who went on the pilgrimage will return home in four batches and that the second batch will land in the Maldives next Saturday.
The Ministry added that the 3rd and 4th batches will return home on the 16th and 17th June, respectively.
A 1000 pilgrims went to the Hajj this year from the Maldives. All pilgrims were taken on the pilgrimage under the Hajj Corporation.
The pilgrims have completed all the immigration procedures under the Mecca Route Initiative. The service is available under the special direction of Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz.
