Police have released Raud Ahmed Zilal after his latest remand of 20 days was completed today.
Raud was arrested last month in connection with the case of a young woman who fell on the rooftop of a building in Male'.
Raud, who was last seen with the victim Hawwa Yumn, was arrested on the 24th of last month.
He was remanded 4 times since he was initially apprehended. Since then, his defence filed an appeal case at the High Court contesting the Criminal Court's remand order of 5 days issued on the 10th May.
The High Court scheduled a hearing in the appeal case today, but later canceled the hearing after throwing out the appeal.
The High Court's report said that since Raud was released earlier today, his defence recinded the appeal and then the appeal was canceled by the court.
