Maldives Meteorological Services, the Met Office, says the active southwest monsoon over the Maldives is expected to intensify in the next three days.
It said from 18th May to 20th May, heavy rains and thunderstorms will be experienced across the country.
The Met Office also said that average winds, along with rough seas, are also expected, particularly over central and northern atolls.
It advised all to be updated on the latest weather conditions.
The Maldives have been experiencing bouts of bad weather this year, with severe rain showers and thunderstorms recorded across the country.
