Police have confirmed that a foreigner lost his arm in a boating accident on Monday. Police said that the man was diving near the entrance of a resort in Noonu Atoll when he was hit by a launch.
Police said that the incident was reported on the 12th of this month, around 10:30 p.m., and that the man lost his right arm from the elbow down.
They stated that the victim was from Bangladesh and that he was 30 years old.
Police said that he sustained serious injuries and that the victim has been transferred to ADK hospital in Male' for further treatment.
They added that they were further investigating the incident.
