President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the proper upbringing of children is the greatest assurance for a prosperous future.
He made these remarks in a message commemorating International Children's Day celebrations today.
In his address, the President emphasised the importance of nurturing a strong and capable generation. He highlighted that preparing children to maintain the sovereignty, dignity, and civilisation of the Maldives is a responsibility entrusted to all.
The President called upon all Maldivians to reaffirm their collective commitment to protecting children from harmful influences. He highlighted the vital need for fostering respectful, compassionate environments grounded in good manners and ethical conduct across all areas of life.
Additionally, he stressed the importance of offering children education and training that are both contemporary and future-focused, providing them with the necessary values and skills to serve their country with honour. The President expressed his hope that these children would carry forward the nation's glory and dignity in the years to come, whilst embracing Islamic principles and leadership.
President Dr Muizzu also encouraged children to embrace continuous learning and self-improvement, striving to make each day more meaningful and successful than the last. He urged them to uphold the five daily prayers, deepen their understanding of Islam, respect Maldivian traditions, and foster a deep love for the nation.
