Police have released the identities of the persons of interest in the case where a young woman was found on the roof of a house in Male'.

The 21-year-old is currently being treated for her injuries at the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital IGMH and Police today said that though she was off the ventilator, she was still in critical condition.

At a Press Conference today, Police said they have identified a total of 9 persons of interest in the case, including the victim, who was named as 21-year-old Hawwa Yumnu Rasheed.

The other main person of interest is 21-year-old Raud Ahmed Zilal, who was seen with Yumn on the stairwell of the house that was seemingly unrelated to them before the young woman plunged to her death from the 9th floor of that house onto the roof of the building next door, according to the CCTV footage released by the Police today.

Only Raud and Yumn were seen in the footage before the girl's supposed fall.

Police also named 22-year-old Aishath Layaalee Iqbal, 22-year-old Yoosuf Ahmed Akram, 28-year-old Yoosuf Yassaru Abdul Ghafoor, 24-year-old Aminath Junaina Jamsheed, 28-year-old Hussain Hamees Ali, and 24-year-old Ijaaz Jaaiz.

Surprisingly, the Police also named Izudhiyan Mohamed Maumoon as a person of interest in case minutes after the President's Office Spokesperson Heena Waleed confirmed that Izudhiyan has been dismissed from his post as the Under Secretary for Strategic Communications at the President's Office.

Police said today that the passports of all the persons of interest in the case have been seized and that Police are in the process of searching the places the individuals visited before the incident.
