The Criminal Court has sentenced a local man to 34 years in jail after he was convicted of two separate sexual crimes against a child.
Ahmed Rashwan Ismail Rasheed was found guilty of touching a child with sexual intent and using a child to produce pornographic content.
The Criminal Court found Rashwan guilty of intentionally touching the body of a child with sexual intent under Section 03(h) of the Special Procedures Against Child Sexual Offenders Act and sentenced him to 14 years in jail.
At the same time, under section 18(h) of the Special Procedures Against Child Sexual Offenders Act, Rashwan was found guilty of producing pornographic content through a child and sentenced to 20 years imprisonment for this offence.
As the two cases involved the interests of a child and were heard in secret.
