Russian Ambassador to the Maldives and Sri Lanka Levan Dzhagaryan claims the local online persona who goes by the handle 'Hassan Kurusee' is an ex-high-ranking politician of the Maldives.

His comments came after 'Kurusee' made yet unfounded claims, accusing the government of facilitating the illicit transfer of weapons and spare parts to countries like Russia via Velaana International Airport.

The Russian Ambassador said Russia knows who the mastermind of this anonymous publication is. He said the federation persistently requests that any party refrain from undermining the current constructive dialogue between Russia and the US.

Dzhagaryan said that Russia also calls on all not to damage the traditionally friendly relationship between the Maldives and Russia.

As we can observe, President Mohamed Muizzu is undertaking active efforts to improve the financial situation on the archipelago, and Russian tourists, who consider Maldives one of the most preferable destination for vacation in the world, make considerable contribution to this process.
