Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Ahmed Nazim says the parliamentary sessions will resume and continue as usual starting next Monday.
Nazim, the MP for Dhiggaru Constituency, had said at the last parliamentary meeting that the sessions would be halted and that the parliament would announce when the house would reconvene.
He did not offer a reason for the decision.
Speaking to The Press today, Nazim said that the Secretariat would be scheduling sessions depending on how the Parliamentary Committees' work are progressing and that the next session would be held on Monday.
Though the Parliamentary sessions were not held in the last two days, vital committee meetings were held during this time.
Earlier this week, PNC Deputy PG Leader MP for Addu Hulhudhoo Constituency Mohamed Shahid confirmed to The Press that while the parliamentary sessions resumed after the Eid break, there were issues with the current resolutions, bills, and motions that had been submitted to the Parliament.
Shahid further said that although the sessions would remain adjourned, parliamentary committees would keep on meeting to continue their work.
