The Parliament sessions have been adjourned without a precise date given to restart the sessions.
This was announced by the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament, Ahmed Nazim, who chaired yesterday's parliamentary session.
The Deputy Speaker did not explain why the sessions would be stopped temporarily.
However, PNC Deputy PG Leader MP for Addu Hulhudhoo Constituency Mohamed Shahid confirmed to The Press that while the parliamentary sessions resumed after the Eid break, there were issues with the current resolutions, bills, and motions that had been submitted to the Parliament.
Shahid further said that although the sessions would remain adjourned, parliamentary committees would keep on meeting to continue their work.
While, a parliamentary session has not been scheduled for today, Parliamentary Committees have been scheduled to convene at 11:00 in the morning today.
