Immigration authorities have apprehended 11 foreigners from a cafe in Male' that was being operated illegally.

They said that they conducted a raid on Thursday night in Male' against foreigners living illegally in the capital and that they searched a cafe during the raid.

Immigration noted that the cafe was being operated in a way that threatened public health and that 11 foreigners living there were apprehended.

They added that the arrested foreigners were living in the cafe illegally.

Immigration has teamed with other law enforcement agencies to apprehend foreigners who are working in the Maldives illegally without proper documentation.
